- What is Erasmus+ study mobility?
Erasmus+ study mobility activity is the opportunity for students enrolled at AGU to study for one or two semesters at a higher education institution abroad that is partnered with an inter-institutional agreement.
- What is Erasmus+ internship mobility?
Internship mobility activity is to do internship in a foreign institution related to the academic field of study of students enrolled at AGU.
- What are the minimum and maximum mobility periods under the Erasmus+ Programme?
The minimum duration for study and internship mobility is 2 months and the maximum duration is 12 months.
- Who can benefit from Erasmus+ study mobility?
Full-time students enrolled at AGU can benefit from study mobility. However, prep. school students and 4th year students at the graduation stage cannot apply for study mobility. In order to apply for study mobility, students must have a course load of at least 30 ECTS in the semester in which the mobility will take place.
- Who can benefit from Erasmus+ internship mobility?
Full-time students enrolled at AGU can benefit from internship mobility. However, prep. students cannot apply for internship mobility. On the other hand, 4th year students in the graduation stage can participate in the internship mobility provided that they complete the internship within 12 months after the date of graduation.
- What should I do to benefit from study and/or internship mobility?
As a general rule, in order to benefit from Erasmus study and internship mobility, your CGPA must be at least 2.20 for undergraduate students and at least 2.50 for graduate students (master – phd). Students who do not meat the CGPA requirement cannot apply.
Students who meet the CGPA requirement must make their applications through the specified platform and must also be successful in the foreign language exam.
- Can I apply for study and internship mobility at the same time?
Yes, you can apply for both mobility types at the same time. However, you need to prioritise one mobility type during the application. As a result, -10 points will be deducted from the mobility type that is not prioritised.
- In which country/institution can I carry out Erasmus+ study mobility?
It is mandatory to have a bilateral agreement with the host institution for Erasmus+ study mobility. Please click here for the list of department-based bilateral agreements.
- Is there a specific amount of courses I will take at the institution I will go to? How many ECTS credits should I take?
It is not the number of courses you will take in the institution you will go to, but the ECTS amount is important. The student who will participate in the study mobility is expected to follow a programme equivalent to 60 ECTS credits for one academic year (autumn and spring) and 30 ECTS credits for one academic semester (autumn or spring).

- How should I handle visa procedures?
Students are responsible for travelling abroad, passport and visa procedures. In this regard, the web page of the Embassy of the visa country should be checked and the necessary information should be obtained from the official institutions.
Erasmus Office provides "Visa Support Letter" to be used in visa application for students who will participate in mobility within the scope of Erasmus. The relevant document confirms that you will participate in mobility within the scope of Erasmus and the amount of grant you will receive.
- Do students with a green passport also need to apply for a visa?
Students who have green passports should check the web pages of the Embassy of the country they will apply for a visa and check how long the green passport is exempt from visa.
- Should I register for courses at AGU in case of visa failure?
In case of rejection of visa, the students must register for their courses in order to avoid loss of the semester.
- Who can I contact for help with accommodation?
Students are responsible for finding accommodation abroad.
In general, in study mobility, there may be accommodation in the dormitories of the host higher education institutions. For this, the web page of the host higher education institution should be carefully examined and a dormitory application should be made on time.
- Is it compulsory to have travel health insurance?
Students participating in the mobility are required to have compulsory insurance according to the type of activity. It is compulsory to have Travel Health Insurance for study mobility and Travel Health Insurance and Liability and Accident insurance for Internship mobility.
For insurance obligations, you should check the web page of the visa country and make sure that you have a policy that meets the insupose requirement of visa country.
- Are insurances such as AT 11 etc. valid?
Insurances such as AT11 etc. are valid in visa countries (e.g. AT11 Germany). However, they are not valid in other countries due to their scope. Therefore, students are required to have a travel health insurance.
Insurances such as AT11 etc. do not provide sufficient protection within the scope of internship mobility.
- Do I have to pay my tuition fee to my home university while I am abroad as an Erasmus+ student?
All students who have to pay tuition fees to AGU are required to pay their tuition fees.
- Will I have to pay registration fee at the university I go to?
The host higher education institution cannot charge any academic fees (tuition fee, registration fee, examination fee and library fee) from students coming within the scope of Erasmus+. Therefore, you will not pay any registration fee to the university where you will participate in the study mobility, regardless of its legal status (private or public).
- Can I make changes in the Learning Agreement?
Students participating in study mobility have the opportunity to make changes in the Learning Agreement within 4-7 weeks at the latest as of the mobility start date. However, the relevant changes must be approved by all parties (student, recieving and sending institution).
- Will the courses taken during Erasmus+ study mobility be recognised at AGU?
Full recognition is guarenteed fort he study mobility.
- How much grant can I get if I am an Erasmus+ study/internship mobility student?
Students who are selected for study mobility with a grant can receive grant support for one academic semester. Although the grant amounts change according to the country groups, the monthly grant amounts can be found here.

- How are the grant payments paid?
After the student obtains a visa and submits all documents to the Erasmus Office, the grant agreement will be signed. Then, 80% of the total grant amount will be transferred to the student's Euro account as the first payment. The remaining grant will be payed to the students who successfully complete their as second payment / after mobility mobility and submit their documents to the Erasmus Office
In order for the grant payment to be made, a Euro account must be opened. Please contact the Erasmus Office for information on which bank to open the Euro account.
- Will the Erasmus+ grant cover all my expenses?
The Erasmus+ grant is a contribution to all the expenses that the participant will make for the mobility. Therefore, it is not possible for the Erasmus+ grant to cover all the expenses to be incurred.
- Are there different grant items (travel, visa, etc.) within the Erasmus+ grant?
Erasmus+ grant is not given separately for different expenditure items.
- Can I still benefit from the Erasmus programme by receiving Erasmus greant even though I have a scholarship in Turkey? Will the Erasmus scholarship cause my current scholarships to be cancelled?
Students who receive a national scholarship or loan can also benefit from the Erasmus+ grant. Benefiting from the Erasmus+ grant does not result in the interruption or cancelation of any national scholarship or loan.
- What is zero-grant Erasmus?
Students can participate in mobilities without a grant if they wish. However, zero-grant students are subjected to the same general assessment and go through the same process as other applicants. The difference of a zero-grant student is that the student is not paid. All documents to be submitted before and after the mobility must be completed, as in the case of granted students.
- Can zero-grant students also receive a Visa Support Letter?
Yes, zero-grant students can also receive a Visa Support Letter confirming that they have been selected under the Erasmus+ programme and that they will participate in mobility within this scope
- How many times can I benefit from the Erasmus+ programme?
The mobility period within the scope of Erasmus+ provided for each education level (Undergraduate/Master's/PhD) cannot exceed 12 months. Not exceeding 12 months, it is possible to participate more than once in different or similar types of activities.
- I benefited from Erasmus+ Study Mobility Programme, can I also benefit from Erasmus+ Internship Programme?
It is possible to benefit from different types of mobility provided that the total activity period does not exceed 12 months.
Likewise, it is possible to benefit from similar mobility types more than once, provided that the total activity period does not exceed 12 months.
